Your Wexford Internal Fire Door could be your best design statement, blending in with, or setting off, the theme and decor of a room and certainly more than just a way in or out. Natural wood is always an attractive feature, and oak veneer fire doors add style and finesse to all your living spaces. Here at Internal Doors, we have been providing doors, frames and accessories since 2011; we are proud to recommend our Wexford internal oak fire doors which offer strength and durability, along with style and long-lasting top quality.
It has a FD30 certificate which means it can burn for at least 30 minutes and complies with most residential building regulations. The engineered construction of the Wexford interior fire door guarantees its top-class workmanship. It is unfinished so that the consequent finish is the choice of the end user. The Wexford interior door is made in fine-quality oak for internal use. It can fit practically any space as its width dimensions are available in many measurements, from 686mm to 838mm. The Wexford door is carpenter-friendly - it is possible to trim it down by 3mm on all four sides. It is 44mm thick and its height is a standard 1981mm. It is certified FSC with a ten-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Doors must be treated and finished before they are hung, including any cuts made to accommodate hinges, etc. This effectively blocks any moisture from infiltrating the door. Natural wood needs treating and sanding, although it is possible to order a treated/finished door. Oil-based finishes are easy to apply, quick-drying and durable. In all cases, hardwax oils should be used on the internal door to protect and seal it, and to validate the ten-year guarantee. If you intend to paint your oak interior door, it should have a primer and a solvent-based top-coat. This is to comply with the guarantee. Usually, unless you specifically want natural oak, a white primed door is better indicated where painting will be required.
