Product Information

Looking To Buy The Modica 4 Panel Oak External Door?

If you're looking for an entrance door with quality, style and elegance, then the Modica oak door from LPD might be just what you need. This exterior door is made of Modica warmer oak, giving it a beautiful and timeless look that will last for years to come. It's available in a range of sizes and styles, so you can create the perfect entranceway.

With superb craftsmanship guaranteed by the leading experts at LPD, this Modica warmer oak door features four evenly sized panels, combined with a superior level of insulation and strength thanks to the reliable properties of this warm oak material. Whether you need an extra hallway entrance or a main focal point for your home's exterior, you can always depend on an LPD modica warmer oak door for absolute consistency and reliable brand quality.

Ensure You Treat Your New Door

This FSC-certified oak door comes unfinished so you will need to treat it in an external treatment to protect it further from the elements. To treat this unfinished oak door, one of our external wood treatments such as Impranol or Osmo can be applied. Not only will any of these specific oils help to protect the wood from weather-related damage, but it also adds a unique depth and creamy warm colour which is unmatched by any paint or varnish.

Furthermore, applying oil helps to maintain the natural beauty of the wood grain, really making this oak stand out in any setting. Whichever oil you decide to treat your own piece with, you can be sure that it'll age gracefully over time and make for an eye-catching piece with a high quality finish.

We also supply an Oak Weatherbar to match the door, which will be required should the door be "open to the elements". Sold separately as not everyone will need one...ie if your door is situated within an enclosed porch. Click Here For Oak Weatherbars.

It comes in three different size variations so you can pick and choose which size would be most appropriate for your door entrance.

If you're undecided about which LPD oak door to go for, then you'll be glad to know that you don't have to. We offer alternative styles such as the Modica GRP anthracite grey and the Modica GRP white, so no matter what your taste or your home's aesthetics, we've got something for everyone. With the cool grey finish of the anthracite door or the crisp white of the white door, you can transform the entranceway of your home in a heartbeat with plenty of style and panache.

Maintenance

External Wooden Product Finishing

When protecting external products, we highly recommend using a high quality treatment such as Impranol Oils. These fast drying oils offer an enhanced wood finish which is both quick and easy to achieve. Impranol Hardwax Oils are also extremely hardwearing and durable, they ensure that your doors can withstand external weather. What's more, Impranol oils can also be reapplied to scratches by treating the area using a cloth.

All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.

Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.

Storage - Flat and Dry Only

As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc. For more detailed information on how to treat you newly delivered doors click here.
