Product Information
Looking for a stylish Oak glazed door?
Look no further! This door will enable the light to flow through your home beautifully.
French doors originated as balcony windows during the Renaissance period, which was a time known for its elegance and beauty. Furniture was chosen as much for its artistic look as for its functional nature.
Today, French doors add a true sense of style, spaciousness and a throwback to history that seems timeless.
Featuring eight bevelled glazed panes, made from toughened safety glass which is bevelled to one side. They are separated by wonderfully sculpted solid Oak beading. This is offset by a rectangular Oak frame which features a solid wood core.
Adding French doors to your home is a wonderful way to provide a barrier between the rooms without reducing natural light, which also creates a sense of openness and tranquillity. Make this door the heart of your home, it is sure to make a lasting impression on everyone who sees it.
Why not have two of these doors side by side and create your own double doors! We have allowed for substantial trimming and alterations so you are free to rebate them so they fit comfortably and securely together.
Maintenance
Wooden Product Finishing
Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre-finished door has been ordered). As wood is a natural product, sanding and treating maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex, Osmo, or Sikkens Polyurethane Varnish are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty.
For doors to acclimatise, they should be left in the house prior to installation for at least seven days with the ambient temperature gradually increased over this period.
All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.
Applying a stain prior to treating is known to highlight the areas where glue may have spread to the face of the door during manufacturing, particulary where veneers meet. This cannot be claimed for under warranty. A clear, hardwax oil is what should be used.
Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
If you're wanting to paint an unfinished oak veneer door, ideally a White Primed Door should be purchased instead. However, if you do decide to paint an unfinished oak veneer door then to comply with the door's warranty it must have an undercoat/primer and top coat which is solvent based, not water based.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc. For more detailed information on how to treat you newly delivered doors click here.
Installation
This engineered door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.

Tracey Brindley Says:
Product ReviewI was so pleased to receive my free Treatex samples. It made the whole process of choosing the shade of my doors, so convenient. Thank you, I went with the Clear Matt in the end, lovely finish. -
Happy Customer Says:
Product ReviewI was initially confused between this door and the Mexicano door. But the staff helpfully explained the main differences are the gaps between the planks and the thickness of the lipping around the edge. I went for this one in the end as I didn't need to trim it down too much and the price is great. Thanks for your help -
Gray Says:

Gary Holmes Says:
Product ReviewI'm very impressed with these doors which I had professionally fitted and then treated with hard wax oil myself. The carpenter was very complimentary about the quality of the doors and said they are much better than the ones available from large DIY stores.
The hard wax oil was very easy to apply and gives a superb finish. -
Harry Harker Says:

Maria anderson Says:
Product ReviewI'm so sick of waiting for these doors to be in stock , nearly a year now, why do they say out of stock then they will be in stock only when on date you try an order they give you another date so on and so on. Honesty, why can they be honest TRUTH TRUTH,,, -
Ricky Says:
Product ReviewI bought 6 of these to make up three sets of internal French doors. The quality of wood and finish is very good and the bevelled glass adds a touch of quality. I also cut of around 6mm from one edge with no sign of compromising the depth of the edge lip. I even managed to let one fall over and it crashed onto a workbench but it survived without any significant damage. Very good quality hard wood doors at a reasonable price.
