Need some help?
Do you have a question about the Eindhoven Black Primed 1 Panel Glazed Internal Door, or need some help? You can contact the team who will be happy to help.
Product Information
The Eindhoven Black Primed 1 Panel Glazed Internal Door is another addition to our black glazed internal door collection, and this is a beautiful example of modern and traditional design merging to become a door suited to almost every home. Whether you have a regency style traditional home, or an ultra-contemporary apartment, the Eindhoven could be the perfect choice for you. Featuring one large clear glass panel in the middle of this black primed door, you will be able to gain so much light in the darker areas of the home by opening up the areas with glass doors. The glass pane is surrounded by a decorative beading, adding in subtle details across the otherwise minimalist design, leaning into traditional door design. Whether you choose to use these doors between the kitchen, dining and living room, or perhaps even turn them into a double door with our pairing kit, these doors are a great solution for adding a bit more natural light into the centre of the home, where we sometimes have to rely on artificial lighting”
As with all primed doors, this black internal door will require a final top coat to be applied, to offer another layer of protection against day to day life, hand prints and even sun bleaching. Applying a top coat will also give your doors an extra layer of pigment, making sure your doors are the blackest black. Ensuring that you give your doors an extra top coat also means you are complying with the terms of the massive 10 year manufacturer’s warranty, so you are automatically protected against any future manufacturing fault that could (but probably won’t) be found in the future!
Maintenance
Wooden Product Finishing
Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre-finished door has been ordered). As wood is a natural product, sanding and treating maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex, Osmo, or Sikkens Polyurethane Varnish are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty.
For doors to acclimatise, they should be left in the house prior to installation for at least seven days with the ambient temperature gradually increased over this period.
All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.
Applying a stain prior to treating is known to highlight the areas where glue may have spread to the face of the door during manufacturing, particulary where veneers meet. This cannot be claimed for under warranty. A clear, hardwax oil is what should be used.
Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
If you're wanting to paint an unfinished oak veneer door, ideally a White Primed Door should be purchased instead. However, if you do decide to paint an unfinished oak veneer door then to comply with the door's warranty it must have an undercoat/primer and top coat which is solvent based, not water based.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc. For more detailed information on how to treat you newly delivered doors click here.
Installation
This engineered door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
