Need some help?
Do you have a question about the Arnhem White Primed 2 Panel FD30 Fire Door, or need some help? You can contact the team who will be happy to help.
Product Information
One of the latest doors to be added to our white fire door collection, the Arnhem White Primed 2 Panel FD30 Fire Door is an all-round excellent choice for anyone looking for new internal doors with a fire rating. Inspired by the design of regal and period internal doors, the Arnhem boasts many qualities that can be likened to the doors seen in stately homes. These features include a two panel design, one being a square panel, positioned at the bottom of the door and a much larger panel that
sits above it and fills the majority of the door. These two panels exhibit high quality decorative beading around the edges, adding to that traditional look. Whilst it may seem that these doors could only be suited to a traditionally styled home, it also shares a lot of features associated with a more contemporary style. Angular corners and clean crisp lines, as well as an overall minimalist design makes this door a perfect fit for modern decors. You won’t be able to tell the difference between this door and the standard version upon first glance, but you can mix and match depending on your needs throughout the home!
These white fire doors feature a solid core to give strength and protection within your home. The FD30 rating of these doors mean that you will be protected from flames on the other side of the door for a minimum of 30 minutes, giving you valuable extra time to get out of the house in the unlikely event of a fire. As with all our white primed doors, you will need to give your new internal doors a final coat of paint to finish them. Although the white prime may seem like it has enough coverage, the final coat is what seals and protects the doors, giving you years of use. However, you don’t have to stick to white for the top coat, the priming gives a great base for any colour you feel like! This top layer of paint is a stipulation of the incredible 10 year manufacturer’s warranty, which when terms are followed, will guarantee your doors against faults if they ever occur in the future.
Maintenance
Wooden Product Finishing
Our products are supplied fit for purpose and unfinished (unless a pre-finished door has been ordered). As wood is a natural product, sanding and treating maybe required to achieve the perfect finish. If you have not ordered a pre-finished/treated door then we recommend that quality hardwax oils such as Treatex, Osmo, or Sikkens Polyurethane Varnish are used to seal and protect the goods and to validate your warranty.
For doors to acclimatise, they should be left in the house prior to installation for at least seven days with the ambient temperature gradually increased over this period.
All of our doors must be treated before they are hung, not afterwards. It is vitally important not to miss areas where the door has been cut for hinges or any other door furniture as this would allow for moisture to get into the door and spread throughout it.
Applying a stain prior to treating is known to highlight the areas where glue may have spread to the face of the door during manufacturing, particulary where veneers meet. This cannot be claimed for under warranty. A clear, hardwax oil is what should be used.
Modern oil finishes are extremely durable and hardwearing, they are very simple to apply and fast drying. Once your appropriate finish has been applied, generally very little maintenance is required. It is always advisable to cover any scratches that may occur over time. The benefit of using hardwax oil is that this is a very simple process of re-applying the finish to the affected area with a cloth.
If you're wanting to paint an unfinished oak veneer door, ideally a White Primed Door should be purchased instead. However, if you do decide to paint an unfinished oak veneer door then to comply with the door's warranty it must have an undercoat/primer and top coat which is solvent based, not water based.
Storage - Flat and Dry Only
As wood is a natural product it is important that it is stored correctly. We recommend that your new products are stored flat and in a dry area. We recommend that all packaging is kept on the products, or removed for inspection and then re applied for storage. Again as wood is a natural product it is susceptible to changes in each room's atmosphere and as such please be mindful of this and take care to avoid damp areas or newly plastered rooms etc. For more detailed information on how to treat you newly delivered doors click here.
Installation
This engineered door must be fitted with a minimum of 3 hinges. This is due to the weight of the product, which can be attributed to the high grade materials used in the construction of the door. Choosing to ignore this requirement will void your warranty.
